After completing my MBBS from B J Medical College, Pune in 2010 and my DNB Obstetrics & Gynaecology from GKNM Hospital, Coimbatore in May 2014, I still had a quest for further education- that extra feather in my cap! A chance to work with Dr. Sunita Tandulwadkar at Ruby Hall IVF Clinic was a dream come true.
I am currently pursuing a 1 year fellowship in Reproductive Medicine and Endoscopy under the able guidance of Dr. Tandulwadkar. This is a golden opportunity for all-round development; not just because we get a chance to handle reproductive medicine, endoscopy and high risk obstetrics under one roof, but also because we can hone our skills at patient-counselling, team work as well as academics.
I have, during my post- graduation, presented posters at National and International Conferences. My poster titled ‘A rare case of Polyhydramnios’ was awarded the First prize at Yuva FOGSI South Zone 2012. The same case report was later published in Perinatology Journal in the April-June 2013 volume. My post graduate thesis on ‘Instrumental vaginal deliveries- An Analytical study’ included 600 patients over a span of 2 years and extensively analysed various aspects of operative vaginal deliveries. I always actively participated in case discussions in various post-graduate National Conferences as well.
Working at Ruby Hall Clinic is a chance to keep my interest in academics alive, since Dr. Tandulwadkar always encourages her students to actively participate in various publications, seminars and other academic activities.
It is indeed a privilege to be a part of the enthusiastic and efficient team of the Department of IVF, Ruby Hall Clinic.
